I've just heard it's kind of spooky and I've heard about the witches that died there. And it was always foggy whenever I drove through there.

The Greendale Thirteen.

[He says it easily.]

The fog and the mystery? [ She smirks at him, glancing up at the waiter as he comes to take their order. She orders a strawberry milkshake instead of coffee because she's Betty Cooper.]

And the creepy forests and the deep mines.

[He's laughing.]

Hey, at least we're up front about it.

Oh, we're all about secrets and suppressing everything in Riverdale.

[occultatum]

No place is that bright without some serious problems.

[At least he'll readily admit it.]

[ she's starting to think so too.]

I didn't used to think that. I believed the lie, I think. Because you're right... the truth was harder to face.

So sure, Greendale is kind of weird. And witch hunts are in our past.

[He relaxes a little.]

But okay. You believed the lie. And now you figured it out.

Not in ours. [ of course, she doesn't mean literal witch hunts like he does.]

I'm not sure if I've figured it all out but I've figured out enough.

[There's a pause.]

Literal ones?

No... [ she looks at him for a moment.] I meant figuratively.

[He shakes his head.]

You never know in these tiny towns.

Yeah but it's not the 1700s either.

[He raises his eyebrows a little, and laughs.]

I've seen some of the farms on the outskirts of town.

[ she rolls her eyes good-naturedly.] Okay, some are bad.

[He smiles a little.]

[It's not the best spell in the world; he rocking his fingers over the wood gently. He wants to know her desires, and he wants the truth. It's not the nicest thing, but the world turns and hovers around them with his magic.

He'd be surprised if she noticed it.]

[ it might be a bad spell but it works on her and she doesn't notice, she just feels compelled to be honest and it all starts pouring out of her in a stream of uncontrolled thoughts and hopes.]

I need to help people. I want to be an investigative reporter. I need Jughead. I need him to talk to me again. I don't want him to resent me for being his Dominant. I want everyone I care about to be safe. I need to know why my dad killed all of those people and if I'm going to turn out the same way as him.

And I need to see where that darkness inside of me takes me even if I'm scared of it even if I feel like I don't want to.

[occultatum]

[He lifts his head. Excellent - it's good to know that it works.]

Are you fighting with Jughead?

[And there's a pause.]

What's the darkness inside of you?

Yes. He had sex with someone else multiple times and didn't tell me about it.

[ at his next question, it's almost like she resists the spell for a fraction of the second but in all honesty, it's because she doesn't know how to answer.]

I don't know what it is. But it makes me do things sometimes.
